Sourcing Talent

Success in sourcing comes down to quality over quantity. For each req, rather than mass messaging on LinkedIn, we invest time doing background research and reviewing portfolios. We phone screen the strongest candidates and narrow it down to a target of 5 people who are the best match before sending them through. This approach respects your time (and talent’s time) by giving you a strong set of diverse candidates who are already vetted with your team needs in mind.

When sourcing for you, we partner with your stakeholders (typically an in-house recruiting team or creative leads). For each req we estimate the number of hours it will take to return high quality candidates with notes on each individual’s strengths and goals (e.g. target salary). From there the ball is in your court to move forward in the process with candidates.

Recruiting for Freelance
& Contract-to-Hire

Working with freelancers is a game of speed. As economic conditions continue to change, hiring for project-based work is only getting more competitive. The best talent is evaluating you as much as you’re evaluating them.

We’ve built a core roster of creative contractors across varying areas of design (visual, product, layout, experiential, UI) and copywriting (technical, marketing, editorial, UX).

We handle all of the sourcing, and then work with your team to manage the interview process. Once booked, our freelance candidates work directly for you, so you pay their rate to them — no mark-ups or opaque hourly billing like you’d have with a staffing firm.

Recruiting for
Full-Time Reqs

Communication is what sets us apart as full-cycle recruiters. Our goal is to keep the process clear so that you and candidates both know exactly what to expect along the way.

We take the same approach when recruiting for full-time employees as we do with contractors, but with extra attention to long-term fit (e.g. making sure a candidate’s career goals are in alignment with the growth opportunities in the role).

No ghosting, no game playing. We see ourselves as an extension of your business, so we hold ourselves to the highest standards— standards that are also rooted in best practices for equitable and inclusive hiring.

For Talent

Our team spent a collective 25 years working in design and marketing before moving into recruiting. Having led talent acquisition efforts at one of the largest creative staffing firms in the U.S., brand-side at a design-focused tech. company, and most recently at a Publicis-owned digital agency, we have a full 360 degree view into what hiring managers are looking for and how to stand out.

Remote Portfolio Review

You’ll fill out an intake form that links us to your book, outlines your current job situation, and gives us a sense of what you’re looking for next. Within 48 hours, our team will review your portfolio and send over a report with an evaluation of strengths & weaknesses, along with recommended updates to make in service of your goals.

Portfolio Review Session

In addition to conducting a remote review and sending you a report, we’ll spend one hour together talking through recommendations such as: projects to highlight, key points about your background to emphasize with recruiters, areas to up-level your skills, people to take inspiration from, and companies to target.

Career Coaching

Each month we open up a small number of career coaching slots. We support talent through periods of:
Growth: preparing for a promotion or negotiation
Change: changing careers, moving from full-time to freelance
Challenge: uncertainty, unhappiness, or feeling stuck in a job

“Within just a few weeks of working with each other, Stephen found multiple possible matches for me and ended up placing me in an ideal part-time freelance role.”
